So as usual it’s been ages since I’ve last posted something here. Thats probably the reason I took so long before I actually started my own blog.

Anyway I figured I may as well just post today. Not that I really have anything in particular to say :P I’ve had a relatively boring week. The first half was pretty routine, College, MAAC, home, nothing special really.

Then came Friday. I was running late as it is, and it was raining. Windcheaters have to be the most useless form of protection against the rain cause even with mine on, I was wet. Even my top which was under the windcheater. My jeans were soaked through… Though that was partially cause when I was about 2 mins from the station and not tottaly drenched, this crazy man walking past me kicks water onto me and then runs off… And trains always get messed up on the first heavy-ish day of the rains so I figured, may as well take a fast train. Instead of taking the usual 12-15 minutes, it takes 50 mins, since it moves slowly for 2 mins, stops for 10. Highly annoying :P Add that to the fact that you’re drenched, standing up and have crazy women nudging you in the ribs, its not a lot of fun.

So eventually I reach college and enter my first lecture 5 minutes before it finishes and see none of my friends in class. Turns out they all skipped it and were hanging out in the canteen planning to go for a movie which we end up watching by bunking the remaining 3 lectures :P We went to Sterling for ‘The Hangover’. Its probably one of the funniest movies I have ever seen :D And they actually shot it without any retakes which is truly truly shocking!! And awesome :D

So eventually we all have to head back to college for an honours lecture and end up getting even more wet. The lecture gets cancelled because the two major geeks in our class didn’t stay back for it :P So I get to head home, have a nice hot bath and relax.

I love the rains :) They just make everything seem so much nicer. All the buildings look cleaner, the trees and plants look fresher, the dog goes hyper :P And who doesn’t like just taking a walk in the rains and finally coming home and having somethin hot to eat. Its just heaven :)
And I think I’ve babbled enough for one afternoon. I’ll probably be doing more of this from now on :P

One desert bg plus some monuments = my new matte painting :D

It’s been ages since I actually wrote something, but exams really motivate you to do a ton of things, none of which include studying :P So here is my latest offering, it’s a poem called If You’re Happy. And yes, titles can be misleading :P Enjoy :)

If You’re Happy

If you’re happy, you won’t know it,

When you’re sad, you can’t show it,

You’re depressed and you feel lonely,

You think you’re dying slowly,

You feel the world is out to get you,

You wouldn’t if I hadn’t met you,

But you came into my life and turned it all upside down,

You made me feel like a princess,

But then you stole my crown.

And now I’m catching up to you, so baby, don’t you frown,

You knew I would come calling,

So come on, quit your stalling,

And try to be a man, once in your life.

If you’re happy, you won’t know it,

I’ll make sure that you can’t show it,

You’re depressed, you think you’re lonely,

But babe, I’m only killing you slowly.

And fortunately, there’s plenty life left in you

I’ll take my time, I’ll wear you down,

I’ll grind your hopes into the ground,

I’ll destroy you completely before I’m through.

Yeah you know I’m coming to get you soon,

Where you gonna hide cause there ain’t no shuttle to the moon.

You knew I would come calling,

So come on, quit your stalling,

And face me like a man, once in your life.

If you’re happy, you don’t look it,

If you are, well I’m over it,

Your breath just sounds so shallow,

Your eyes are sunk deep in their hollows,

You’re dying so very slowly,

No creature deserves a death so lowly,

But then no creature could ever compare to you.

Your chest heaves, you cough, you scream

But only I hear you breathe your last,

And watch you slip into an unending dream

Of the days, the nights, the life, that past,

The glorious days, the steamy nights,

The stolen kisses, the freakish frights,

The torture that was your last fortnight.

Yeah now that I think about it,

You probably were happy,

But I no longer care, as you can see.

So I did eventually end up working on the colours a bit more. My final submission :)

And heres to John Lennon, born today some 68 years ago, he was probably one of the greatest musicians the world has ever or will ever see, at least I think so :P And hopefully he will still be singing, writing and spreading peace, where ever he is now :)

This is something I wanted to do for a long time but only recently had the incentive to get to work on. I’m using it as the subject for my final photoshop matte painting exam, but it’s also a tribute to one of the most amazing singers ever. So heres to John Lennon :) It’s also kind of a good time for me to put this up since his bday is coming up on the 9th.

More photoshopping :D

I turned this:

Into this:

My first homework assignment from my animation course. We had to make a cartoon graveyard with a ghost :P

P

Well the other day I was taking my dog Jerry for a walk, and like always, Jerry was in a tearing hurry and wanted to run as fast as possible, dragging me along helplessly (well kinda) behind him. And while we were running, we almost knocked into a neighbor of mine, who after stroking Jerry asked me this seemingly simple, but yet somehow thought provoking question, “Are you walking him, or is he walking you??”

See cause now that I think about it, I wonder, am I the one in control most of the time or is it the dog? Because most people I know who have dogs, like me spoil them silly. We feed them whatever we eat, we pamper them, wake up and drop everything as soon as they have to go out, and when we’re out with them, if they stop we have to stop, if they move, they drag us along.

So whos the master and whos the pet. I suppose at the end of the day, we’re the ones who’re holding the leash. But then I think the leash they’ve put around our hearts (using their cute puppy dog eyes and tail wagging and cute acts) is way tighter and stronger than the ones we have around their necks :P

In any case, here is little Jerry saying hi :P

Jerry

Yeah he’s definitely the one in charge :P

I just had to put up this picture I took today… The sky looked so unbelievably gorgeous!!

And I found this Spoof poster on the net and thought it was hilarious :P

I know change is a kinda cliched subject to write on, but I think at some point in your life, you suddenly realize just how much has changed around you. So when did it finally strike me… As far as I can tell it was in the train on my way home a couple of days ago.

I remember around the same time last year, it was raining and I was leaning out of the train, just like I was doing two days ago. So in any case at that point last year there stood a dilapidated set of buildings that consisted the ‘Wallace Shaw Flour Mills’ somewhere in between Byculla and Sandhurst road stations. Staring at that building in the middle of the pouring rain was the inspiration to one of my stories called Wallace. Now, to my utter dismay, the mills have been torn down and are soon to be replaced by some ‘International’ School. It kinda makes me sad.

Alright so getting back to change, well there seems to be a lot of it around me right now. And the change is so sudden sometimes, sometimes its so small you don’t even really notice it. My brother going abroad to study is a major change. It’s not until you’re alone in the room you shared watching Supernatural late at night and getting kinda spooked that you realize how big a difference not having just one person around makes.

And then there’s friends. I’m in my first year of senior college. And my old friends are with me, in the same place but I still only meet them once a week, if I’m lucky that is. And well new friends are just that, new :P

And of course there’s love. I met this old classmate of mine yesterday. Till the last time I met her (which was maybe 5 months ago) she and her boyfriend had been inseparable. Now, they’re barely even friends. And it’s funny how easy love can change. Another couple I know broke up, made up, broke up and made up again in the span of 2 hours :P Sure it sounds funny now, but getting caught up in that situation when it actually happened was such a pain. People should note here: Don’t get caught up with couples where both the guy and girl are your friends… It’s a pain :P

But change isn’t necessarily all that bad. I mean my rooms getting painted, which looks pretty good, and the furniture is being shifted around. Plus I’ve gotten rid of a ton of old junk. And don’t we all just love the feeling that we get when we see a nice clean shelf :P

So heres to change, good and bad. Because without it we wouldn’t realize just how good we’ve got it :)

And last but not least, I decided to put up Wallace as well. So I hope you guys enjoyed my random ramblings and go read Wallace. It’s much more interesting :P
